Karen Dominick, MA, NCC, AADC, PRSS, Provisionally Licensed Counselor
Karen Dominick provides counseling services for individuals ages 13 and older at the Beckley and Princeton offices, offering both in-person and telehealth appointments. She specializes in the treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorders, providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Karen began her career in behavioral health in 2017 as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS). She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from West Virginia University Institute of Technology in 2022, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University in 2024. She is a Provisionally Licensed Counselor in West Virginia, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and an Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (AADC).
Drawing on more than a decade of personal recovery, Karen brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. Her recovery journey has shaped her commitment to helping others overcome challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, purpose-driven lives. She is dedicated to fostering a supportive, compassionate, and client-centered environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing process.
Karen is passionate about reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorders through education, advocacy, and compassionate care. She is committed to lifelong learning and continually seeks opportunities to expand her clinical knowledge and enhance the quality of care she provides.
Outside of her professional role, Karen enjoys shopping, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and exploring the outdoors. She believes that healing begins with connection and that every individual has the capacity for growth, recovery, and lasting positive change—regardless of where they are in their journey.
