Jennifer Reed-Grimmett, MA, LPC, NCC.
Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have provided supportive counseling for around 20 years. Thirteen of those years were spent working specifically with children ages 4-8. Children are my specialty, and I work mostly within the modality of Play Therapy. I also work with children’s families to form healthy bonds and teach parents how to provide healthy environments for their children. I will listen to you, your problems, and your challenges, so I can learn to better understand you. By understanding what you need and hope to accomplish, I will be able to help you with your current life challenges. This will help us to work towards making improvements that will help you feel better about yourself right away and in the future. Initially, it might seem like therapy is going slow as you share your experiences, and I learn to understand your feelings and ideas. Hopefully, I will be able to provide some calming exercises, as well as some “short-term solutions” that will help you feel better right away. It is hard to function daily when you are feeling anxious and stressed, and cannot concentrate on daily activities. Life can seem so confusing and hard to navigate. Even though it feels like you are alone, you are not. Many people go through different stages in life and have trouble “finding their way”. You may find it helpful to know that I have experience being the “client” in a “counseling relationship,” and I was very choosy about what I looked for in my therapist/counselor. You need to feel understood and validated, and that your therapist is genuinely concerned for your well-being. Together, we can work towards understanding why you feel certain ways, finding peace and contentment in your life now and in your future. I am looking forward to helping you feel better!
